Lake Garda – Lido di Jesolo, Veneto

Setting off in good time, we made good progress on our trip towards Venice. Passing Vicenza we though to stop for a break, however trying to find a parking space was confusing Nd we gave up, heading on and stopping at Treviso. So pleased we did, reasonably unspoilt by tourism it’s a lovely old town, and we sat having lunch in the main square itch many locals enjoying their Saturday lunch. There were lots of small lanes, and round each corner you found yet another cafe spilling onto the street with only a couple of tables. Canals criss-crossed the town, often disappearing under buildings to reappear again round another corner. No high street chain stores here, lots of small designers you wouldn’t see anywhere else. Unfortunately we just missed the local fish market, they were clearing up as we found it, on a bridge over the river.Arriving at our campsite in Lido do Jesolo we were pleasantly surprised with the camp,(not knowing quite what to expect as we had booked with our ASCI camping card) and our pitch, which is large and shaded by what I can only call umbrella trees! Took us less time to get the tent up and everything sorted this time, time for a walk round the campsite, and a stroll along the beach before dinner.

Our super duper mattress was a bit of a problem overnight! It slowly deflated, to such a point Amr opted for the floor, and I sunk further into the deflating mattress so neither of us had much sleep. I’m only pleased no one was watching me trying to get off the mattress this morning😂😂😂. What fellow campers must have thought of our attempts to locate the leak this morning after breakfast I dread to think!! Anyway we found a small puncture, which we used the puncture repair kit on and hopefully it will work and we can sleep tonight.
We had a reasonably lazy day, venturing out to the main town of Jesolo we found the tourist office and organised our Venice pass tickets ready for later in the week. The road back to the camp is lined with all kinds of eateries, and shops, and I noted that the whole area becomes a pedestrianised zone in the evenings, so another one to explore later.
Back at the camp we lazed about for the afternoon after finding the bus stop we need to get to the ferry to Venice. A nice walk along the beach at sunset after all the sun worshippers have gone was lovely, and comfortable without having to hide from the sun☺️.
Pleased to report operation puncture repair worked!! Good nights sleep, now sat under our canopy watching the rain come down!
